Foreign bodies ingestion: our experience
Foreign body ingestion are commonly seen in children and mentally handicapped adults. This is a very important public health problem in Brazil and in some countries of Sul America. As many cases aren't witnessed and the symptoms aren't specific, a high level of diagnostic suspicion by pediatricians is very important, avoiding complications resulting from late treatment.
